I have taken my Savage to the dealer and showed him the back brake cylinder cover. Right were the spokes interconnect there is a the beginning of the brake cylinder cover. A little further around the curverager of the brake cover are little thin hair line fractures. You can feel them with your finger there must be a hundred of them running along the small curve of the brake cylinder cover. The mechanic told me it was nothing to worry about that the other Savages have them and they are they are not stress fractures. I have worked as a maintanence mechanic and have worked with various metals. I know that a curve in a piece of metal is a weak point and here I have all this fine lines extending with the curve and all the way around the cover. I was told that it was the way the cover was molded and the lines are from the mold. Does anyone no what I am talking about. I don't want my rear tire shattering on me. The dealership assured me that it would not shatter. I am still not convinced. I have had the Savage since last October, a 2001. Do all of the Savages have these hairline cracks along the brake cylinder cover extending across the small curvager.
